Today I took a quick try at setting up my Leap Motion controller on a second laptop - same manufacturer, model, and OS/service pack version. It took a while to get my first Orientation to work by updating my Nvidia drivers.
I purposely didn't do that before trying setup on laptop #2, but I did fetch a new copy of the setup software. Leap Motion has clearly updated the Windows 7 setup app. This time, one of the first things setup did was to launch an (unsigned) NVidia app to check my video driver version. It seemed to take a while to run, leaving the browser window open in front with the Nvidia page mostly empty, but then I realized that behind the browser was a message from setup saying that my video drivers were more than a year old and I should update them, lest Orientation and Airspace not work properly. It wasn't clear if the browser window was ever going to find the new driver for me - it seemed hung. After waiting a while, I clicked Cancel and promised myself I'd do the driver update tomorrow.
Tomorrow: I checked for driver updates. Surprisingly, Windows said none were available. So this was a dead end.
